一、机构概况

西安翻译学院非洲研究中心成立于2021年7月2日，是全国第一家与中国非洲研究院合作、成立非洲研究中心的民办院校，袁小陆教授任研究中心主任。研究中心在校董事会、校领导的关心和支持下，在中国非洲研究院专家的指导下，旨在充分发挥西安翻译学院的外语学科优势和资源，加强与中国非洲研究院的交流与合作，促进中非文化交流；积极参与中国非洲研究院的相关学术交流活动和中非文明互鉴的翻译研究，努力培养一支中非问题研究和中非学术交流的翻译人才队伍，为非洲乃至世认识中国、了解中国贡献力量。

西安翻译学院非洲研究中心由袁小陆教授担任主任，蒋小军副教授担任副主任。目前，研究中心专职研究人员有：梁根顺、李新霞、王云莉、崔蓓、王媛；兼职研究人员：刘媛媛、Brown、王姗姗、崔钰子；师生志愿服务者10余名。

西安翻译学院非洲研究中心自成立以来，学校高度重视并全力支持研究中心的工作，积极参与中国非洲研究院的学术和文化交流活动，并在中国非洲研究院领导专家的支持下，先后开展了《中国精准脱贫100例（第三册/英文版）》汉译英翻译项目，参与“非洲大使延安行”志愿服务活动及“延安精神与精准脱贫”国际研讨会，承担中国非洲研究院三大讲坛的英译汉翻译任务，不仅新时期中非友好交往领域的拓展做出了贡献，也收获了活动相关部门和领导和高度评价和赞扬。

西安翻译学院非洲研究中心将以促进陕西及中国西部地区与非洲的文明互鉴交流为目标，积极推进中非人文交流学术活动的开展，不断践行中非文明互鉴研究的时代价值，并在培养具备全球视野和跨文化交流能力的国际化人才方面，充分发挥研究中心的作用，为中非和经贸合作和友谊发展贡献西安翻译学院的力量。

Center for African Studies of Xi’an Fanyi University

The Center for African Studies of Xi’an Fanyi University was founded on July 2, 2021. It is the first private university in China to have established a center for African studies. With the support of the university board and under the guidance of the experts in the China African Institute, the center aims to bring into full play the advantages of the foreign language disciplines of the university and utilize its resources; to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation with China African Institute, to promote the cultural exchanges between China and Africa. The center will also take the initiative in the academic activities of the Institute and the translation studies of Sino-African civilizations. Efforts will be made to cultivate a team of translation professionals for the study of China-Africa issues and academic exchanges. The center will do its utmost to help Africa and the whole world to understand China.

The Center for African Studies of Xi’an Fanyi University is headed by Professor Yuan Xiaolu and Associate Professor Jiang Xiaojun. The full-time researchers of the Center include Professor Liang Genshun, Li Xinxia, Wang Yunli, Cui Bei with Liu Yuanyuan,  Ngala Nfor Hashan as part-time researchers. There are more than 50 volunteers working for the center.

Since the founding of the Center, the university attaches great importance to and fully supports its work. The center participates in the academic and cultural exchanges of China African Institute. With the support of leaders and experts from the China African Institute, the center has conducted the Chinese-English translation workshop of 100 Cases of Targeted Poverty Alleviation in China (Volume III/English Edition) and organized the activities of “African Ambassadors’ touring Yan’an” and the international Seminar on “Yan’an Spirit and Targeted Poverty Alleviation”. The Center undertook the translation task of three forums of China African Institute. It has not only contributed to the growth of China-Africa friendly exchanges in the new era, but it also has been eulogized by relevant sectors.

The Center for African Studies, depending largely on the linguistic advantages and resources of Xi’an Fanyi University and based on the principle of translation studies of China-Africa civilization, will initiate the China-Africa academic and humanity exchanges, manifest the values the times of the translation studies of China-Africa civilization. The Center will play a pivotal factor in fostering internationally talented personnel with global horizons so as to contribute to the exchanges of China-African cultures, economic cooperation and friendship.
